Short Sermons On The Gospels
by Rev F. Peppert
(Joseph F. Wagner. New York. 1914)
Note: Any modifications for Internet use are shown in italics.
Introduction
We have listed below the links to sermons for each Sunday-which address some of the points contained in the Gospel passage appointed in the traditional Church Calendar approved and ratified by Pope John XXIII in 1962, and Pope Benedict XVI in 2007. Elsewhere we have provided an introduction to the Christian year which explains the sequence of seasons starting with Advent (late November or early December ).
The sermons by Fr. Peppert require attentive reading and reflection. Where a term or comment may need explanation we have offered a few words to assist and sincerely hope they help and are not a distraction.
The sermons offer exceptionally solid and sound Gospel teaching in the Catholic Tradition. They are a result of extensive study and meditation, and provide an excellent guide in the formation of a robust spirituality so necessary if we are to retain a Christian position in our atheistic Western Culture today.
A few slight modifications have been made to render the text suitable for internet use. Nothing of the author’s teaching has been altered.
